Pukka 'night ' tea late into the small dark hours ! Relaxing oat flower, lavender & limeflower, normally I just drift away, but I wanted to keep reading this story.

In my opinion...

I had read so many good reviews of this novel that I entered its world with some trepidation, one man’s meat and all that.

Within minutes I was caught up and wanted to keep reading it. The chapters are short, perfect for on a journey. The perspective keeps changing, so continually keeps your interest but without being difficult to follow, and, best of all, the characters are real and totally credible. What a wonderful name for our 'heroine'.

I do have knowledge of an hospice and its nursing staff- it’s accurate. I do have knowledge of ex -soldiers and life afterwards- it’s real. I do have knowledge of what it’s like to be in love....

The letters are fascinating- I read widely and it takes a lot to force a tear from me, but this story moved me.

Well written, thought provoking, but ultimately also uplifting , this novel justly deserves the acclaim it has received.
