Lies Lies Lies

In my opinion...

Loved, loved, loved it !

My friends are probably a little weary of hearing how many great books are being published at the moment , but here's another to add to the TBR pile!

I was lucky enough to be at an @HQStories event earlier this summer where Adele Park's passionately described this novel , from her synopsis I was hooked and couldn't wait to start reading it.

The title is so accurate, the story IS all about lies, big lies, little lies, unavoidable lies.

As ever, Adele puts different relationships under scrutiny. This may not be comfortable reading, but the characters are realistic and well drawn with cracking dialogue. I could clearly imagine Daisy and Simon -the subject matter tackled is, at times, extremely painful and, in the case of Simon, unflinchingly accurate but so is Daisy's seeming inability to act. They are flawed characters which makes them very human.

The plot is also believable and moves with pace, throwing in unexpected twists right until the end. I wasn't totally sure about the ending....but that's a very personal response, and you'll just have to wait until you get there to see if you agree with me.

So, what are you waiting for? Two days in, and already I've got my book of the month!

My rating

I think you will have guessed by now!

A celebratory five glasses of bubbles - though feeling somewhat ironic given the storyline...

Thank you HQ Stories for my hugely enjoyed ARC
