A Stranger on the Beach
On the blog tour today with this twisty and twisted domestic thriller...
In my opinion...
All is not as it seems…
Or is it?
Who to believe? Who’s telling the truth or are both parties unreliable narrators?
This novel grabbed me from the start, I loved the setting and the realistic descriptions, and I couldn’t put it down. I was even prepared to forgive Caroline for being quite showy about her dream beach home, after all her husband’s behaviour was appalling- and who wouldn’t then do something a bit crazy after what he did on the night of her party…unfortunately Caroline’s mad moment has huge repercussions.
Aidan has his own issues, but after a while, I started to doubt what I was reading- but who exactly was using who? Then I realized that I also was being manipulated like a big pawn in the chess game Michele Campbell is playing. That’s clever.
Frequently the characters are annoying &, as we get to know them better, they are not particularly likeable but twist after twist continues to pull us in, obsessed and played, just as Caroline and Aidan are, until we can find out the ending. An addictive read.

There is a stranger outside Caroline's house.
Her spectacular new beach house, built for hosting expensive parties and vacationing with the family she thought she'd have. But her husband is lying to her and everything in her life is upside down, so when the stranger, Aidan, shows up as a bartender at the same party where Caroline and her husband have a very public fight, it doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary.
As her marriage collapses around her and the lavish lifestyle she's built for herself starts to crumble, Caroline turns to Aidan for comfort…and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aidan's obsession with Caroline, her family, and her house grows more and more disturbing. And when Caroline's husband goes missing, her life descends into a nightmare that leaves her accused of her own husband's murder.
My rating...
An addictive read deserves 5 glasses of bubbles..
