A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham

In my opinion...

A relentlessly dark story. I found the subject matter uncomfortable, and the main character, Chloe, not particularly likeable.

Having said that, Chloe does come with baggage, which is gradually revealed in flashback during the course of the novel.

In spite of my reservations, I was hooked and still wanted to find out who was committing the murders, and there were certainly plenty of twists.

My rating...

A cautious 3.5 to 4...mainly because I wasn't keen on the subject matter. As a debut novel, it's still pretty impressive!
