So many books...
I thought I was busy in the lead up to Christmas, but that was nothing compared to after Christmas.
Paying work does get in the way of the joys of reading *sighs* !!
Regardless, it's about time I started to share with you some of the fabulous books I've been fortunate enough to read over the past month or so.
First up...
Unfaithful by JL Butler
In my opinion...
Recently I was included on a zoom call with JL Butler- the alter ego of Tasmina Perry, which gave a fascinating behind the scenes insight into the writing of this novel.
I was intrigued by the use of a different name, and this is because as JL Butler the book is written in a different style and the story is told in the first person by Rachel.
As the blurb reveals, Rachel, for a number of reasons succumbs to a 'mind-blowing' one night stand, regrets it...but of course there wouldn't be a story if it was as easy as that!
I liked having an older narrator, who suffers from so many of our concerns; lack of self-confidence, missing our young adult children and anxious about work issues.
I loved the cover, and the accuracy of the glamorous locations- it has made me see some of them with new eyes! There were plenty of twists which kept me interested to the end, although I did feel frustrated with some of Rachel's reactions at times but definitely an enjoyable read.

A FATAL attraction…
Rachel Reeves has it all. The perfect family, a rich husband, and a gorgeous home. But when her only child flies the nest, Rachel feels lost – and succumbs to a mind-blowing one-night stand.
With a DEADLY twist…
Instantly regretting her infidelity, Rachel cuts ties with Chris. But he won’t let her go that easily. She erases him from her life – until a text changes everything.
And an UNFORGETTABLE end…
Someone knows what she did.
And they’re ready to destroy her entire life because of it.
My rating...
A glamorous 4 glasses
Cheers! #Harper
