In my opinion... This novel is absorbing and horrifying, well written and hard to put down. The dual timeline keeps the reader hanging in suspense each time it shifts perspective, as yet another piece of the puzzle is revealed. For me this was not an enjoyable book, it's not meant to be, the subject matter is dark and uncomfortable but as a thriller with endless twists right to the end, it is extremely successful, even the closing image is very powerful. Almost 600 titles were published on 3 September, and apparently a lot more to come- which is causing problems for even the big bookstores to try & stock all of them. Obviously some of them have their eye on the Christmas market, but in the meantime, I feel it is our duty to read EVEN more and particularly support the less well known, non celebrity authors...!
